These are photo transfer prints from my first year at University. This was a working process of me experiencing a new printmaking technique in depth. Although, these were my first attempts in producing photo transfer prints. I have learned that drawings or images have to be dominant for it to be printed in-depth and to be seen clearly. However, in my professional studio practice, I like to experiment more with anything that possibly can go wrong. With photo transfer printing there are so many ways of conveying a print and can have so many ideas and techniques on how I approach it from the use of materials, from the use of different thickness of papers and the colours. By using the techniques of photo transfer print, I can approach it by using any type of material; so there is no right or wrong. I like exploring different types of materials to see various outcomes. A photo transfer print can be transformed from drawings, paintings, photographs by scanning it and printing it in greyscale before the photo transfer print process begins. I like challenging myself with experiencing and developing something new. This photo transfer prints show my journeys around London and shows a dominant effect of blurriness which connects into me by representing myself with lack of confidence as a younger individual during my melancholic past.
